Zaneta Kocourkova '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Zaneta Kocourkova, I am a Freshman at Rowan University. Since I can remember, I have been juggling travel ice hockey and being a full-time student.  As soon as my skates hit the ice, I am a team player. I communicate with my teammates before a pass, I am an active listener, and I take responsibility for my plays. I am a leader within my team; with the highest number of goals and assists this season and a strong work ethic. I want to motivate and inspire other players to follow their instincts in hopes that they will lead to their goals/dreams. In addition, hockey helps me relieve stress and maintain a positive attitude. On the ice, I strive to get to the puck before my opponents and I am as equally dedicated to becoming an Engineer. I want to be able to work in a collaborative environment where feedback, opinions, varied perspectives and ideas are incorporated into a final product. Furthermore, Engineering appeals to me because I can use my creativity and interests to solve complex problems and utilize available resources/materials to the best of my ability sustainably. I strongly believe that designing prototypes that have the potential to make a difference in the world is fulfilling and rewarding.
