Personal Statement

I would like to achieve high grades and test scores in high school that allow me to go to a college of my choice. During high school, I want to compete in basketball and lacrosse at the highest levels possible. I hope then to continue my lacrosse career in college. After college, I hope to become a sports medicine doctor.

I've been playing varsity basketball since 8th grade as a starter for the Altamont Lady Knights in Birmingham, AL. I am a four-year starter. Basketball contributes to my hand-eye coordination, team work, and communication. I will continue to play throughout high school.

I began playing lacrosse in 6th Grade for the Mountain Brook Spartans. I played on the middle school team 6-8th grades as a starter. In 8th grade we were state champions. In 9th grade I was moved to varsity and was a starter at attack. We lost in the state finals to our rivals. Last season due to several seniors graduating I was moved to lead our defense. We again lost in the state finals to our rivals. I was named a State All-Star and was selected to the Alabama All-State team as a defensive specialist. As a junior, we again lost in the State Finals to our arch rivals. I was again chosen to play in the All-Star showcase.

I work very hard for my team and will continue playing for Mountain Brook's varsity team. I have played for travel teams the past four summers. This past summer I played for XTEAM, a national program that plays tournaments in different parts of the country. During the summer of 2016, I will play with LB3, a travel program based in Atlanta.
