My name is Alexandra (Lexi) MacLeod and I am currently a junior in high school. I started playing both box lacrosse and hockey when I was 5 years old. I always competed in the boys league. While there are fewer female clubs and tournament options in my area, competing with the boys improved my knowledge of the game and spiked my aggressive spirit which helped lead my teams to 5 provincial titles in box and field lacrosse as well as 1 provincial title in hockey. I was very lucky to play with boys who were stronger and faster because this taught me to be a smarter player and forced me to push myself harder in practices and games due to the obvious physical differences. I was very honored to make an elite provincial team (Team Alberta) 3 years in a row and compete in the 2018 and 2019 Canadian National Championship tournaments and looking forward to competing in the Canada Games 2022 this summer. Practices are every weekend, 3-7 hours away from where I lived, I am passionate and committed to the sport I love. From a lacrosse perspective, I have been described by coaches as having a high lax IQ with an excellent ability to find open spaces in the offensive zone, a very accurate shot and am an exceptional passer and playmaker. Academically, I am extremely hard working and focused which led me to having an 85 average in Grade 10. I look forward to expanding my education in the field of sciences at an institution that will enable me to be the best person and teammate I can be.
