Ellie McCoy '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a gritty, determined, player who can see the field and predict upcoming plays or motions. Although a defender, I bring strength and speed to the mid-field when needed. I can take a draw and scrum for ground balls on the circle when my team needs me to. My dream for college lacrosse is to find the right fit for me, a school that I can push myself academically and athletically. I'm looking for the structure and challenge of a DI program, but also a place that I can call my second home. Throughout my 9 years of playing lacrosse, I have had the opportunity to play on several different teams. Some teams struggled off the field more than on the field, some had challenging dynamics, and some teams lifted each other up even during a tough loss. Being able to experience different levels of play, commitment, and dedication has opened my eyes to what I strive for in college: a team with the same amount of passion and drive, always pushing one another to become their best self on and off the field.
