I personally have a strong desire to succeed in achieving my life goals. My ultimate goal is to graduate college and become a physical education teacher. This strong work ethic has been greatly influenced by my participation in team sports.I have learned how to handle both the highs of winning and the lows of losing.I have come to realize that I can only achieve my dreams by working hard.I understand that I can be a leader by setting high goals for not only myself but my teammates as well.I make a dedicated effort to encourage them and I rejoice when they succeed in reaching their goals. I have played three sports (soccer, basketball, lacrosse) in high school and have played them at a high level outside of school. As a freshman I was fortunate to be on 3 varsity teams. This year I decided to play just Soccer and Lacrosse so I could concentrate on both in the off season. On the lacrosse field I am very versatile player. I primarily play midfield but can also play defense (during my freshman year I had to mark the best player on the opposing team during many games). As a sophomore on my high school team, I was selected to the CCC All Conference and All Academic Team. In addition, I lead the team in caused turnovers this past season with 29 and was 2nd on the team for ground balls with 25. My involvement in not only sports but also student council has taught me to be organized while also being flexible when life throws me curveballs. I also participate in a program called "JT CONNECT". Each month we complete 3 hours of community service. Each month the theme varies and this has been an eye opening experience.
