I became interested in lacrosse when my fourth grade teacher handed out a flier for girl’s lacrosse. I didn’t know anything about lacrosse, that spiked my interest. I told my parents I wanted to sign up and play. They agreed, that’s how I started. When I started playing, my coach thought I was ready to play up with the U14’s instead of the U12’s. I played on the U14’s team up until I was in the sixth grade. In seventh and eighth grade, I played for Spanish Springs High School. I realized at that point I wanted to improve and grow as a lacrosse player because I knew this was going to be my sport.
My parents have always told me if I put my mind and work into something, than I can achieve it. My Parents have been a big influence in my life. They have always supported me and have sacrifice a lot for me, to have the opportunities that I have today.
Lacrosse has taught me how to communicate, trust your teammates, be a team player, sportsmanship and have a positive attitude. It also has taught myself how to be a leader on and off the field by encouraging my teammates and supporting them through their success and failures. Lacrosse has made me work through my failures and appreciate my success. I’ll always strive to be a better person, student and lacrosse player.
My goals as a lacrosse player is to continue to grow as a player and improve my game. Another goal of mine, is to attend a college that is the best fit for me and graduate with a career that I enjoy. I also would like to coach and help grow the game of lacrosse on the West Coast. I would like to provide opportunities for girls who want to play lacrosse at an advance level.
