An influential person in my life is my Grandfather “Gunny”. He is a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran that has been a huge role-model in my life. His entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic have influenced my focus to be a top student athlete while also serving my community.
Our local youth football program, the Manatee Wildcats, started the only youth lacrosse program in our community in 2015. I went to the informational meeting, picked up a stick and instantly fell in love with the game of Lacrosse.
My Grandfather and Parents have instilled in me the need to reflect on my personal experiences to help me learn about myself, and then to make changes as needed and grow from each experience. As a Lacrosse player, I am a leader, team player, and focused on strong academics as a student athlete. I hold myself to a high standard with my academics. I work hard on my studies and seek help when needed. My goal is to graduate at the top of my high school class. Upon graduation, I plan to attend a 4-year college and play on a Women’s Lacrosse Team. I currently am attending IMG Academy for my 2019-2020 school year. In the off season, I have played for the following travel teams: Southern Zone, True FL, Ripcurl, and Team One. For summer 2019, I recently made the Maverick National Lacrosse Classic team. This past Fall, I also was the #1 player on my high school golf team (2 year Varsity starter), and I just finished my first JV Soccer season as a forward midfield.
Outside of academics and athletics, community service is important to me. I am a member of my high school Senate/Student Council, Mam’Selles (a junior women’s community service club), and this is my 2nd year as an assistant coach for the Manatee Wildcat 12U Girls Lacrosse team.
A motto that defines my commitment as a student, athlete, and community service member:
“Forward always, backward never, within ourselves our future lies”
