When I began playing Lacrosse in 4th grade, the game was about being around my friends and having fun, learning new things both on and off the field, and always trying to help my team win games, because I never cared where I played, I just wanted to be on the field. Not caring about where I played allowed me to learn the entire game and this has made me a better player. Lacrosse has opened up so many new doors in my life through my faith playing for the FCA National Team, and on my club and regional FCA teams. I have friends and teammates all over the country and coaches who have always taught me something new about how to succeed. My dad has coached me up until my freshman year, but we always looked to learn from other coaches. When I went back and thought about how many coaches have helped me get this far, I counted over 30 coaches that I had the privilege of playing under.
Thinking forward about college as a player and student, I just finished my Sophomore regular seasons and finished with 100 points 63 goals and 37 and was selected first team all state 6A/7A, so I know that I can bring offense, draw circle skills to any team. I was also second in caused turnovers and played a lot of defense as well, so I am a full field player. At this time, I can see myself in a career related to sports medicine or physical therapy because of my love of sports and science. I am lucky enough to attend a school like Alpharetta High School that offers an academic pathway of Health Care which gets me started moving towards my future career. When I think about playing college Lacrosse, I want to make sure that the school offers my major and gives me the best chance of playing for a team that is not just a team but a family that works together to make those 4 years the best of my life. I want to be able to play sooner than later, and work with coaches that will get the most out of my abilities.
I believe when looking at me as a person and a player the first thing that I would say about myself is that I like to help others. Off the field my mom and I work with preschool aged kids every week at church, I have worked with a local food pantry that helps serve the hungry in our area. Being able to help others has always been a huge part of who I am. I am a very successful student, in honors and AP classes as a sophomore, and I begin my freshman year 1 credit away from being a sophomore.
My coaches know that no matter where I am put, I will learn the plays, learn the type of defense and know where to be. My dad and I watch and break down game film all the time. This is an area where I think I am ahead of many players as I have been watching game film for 3 years now, and it has helped me so much with my Lax IQ. All of these skills and characteristics will help me be a leader and great asset to your team.
