Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Gemma McCall and I am a 2026 Attacker from Auckland, New Zealand. I play attack currently for Epsom Girls Grammar School Premier team and NZ U20 World Cup team that is currently preparing for the World Cup in Hong Kong in August 2024. I started playing lacrosse in my first year of high school and this is my 4th year playing lacrosse.
I am dedicated to lacrosse and hard working on and off the field which shows as I have improved tremendously over the past 3 years. I plan to continue to improve my game which being in a national team will help me improve and learn. A strength of my game is dodging from behind goal which has become a favourite place of mine in the NZ U20 Team. Previously, I have been captain of many representative teams that I have been in, which are U15 in Perth, U15 in Waikato, and U18 in Wellington. This has helped me build my leadership skills and find my voice, where I now use to take the lead in the attacking end of the field. I am looking for a school that will challenge me not only athletically but also academically.
