Personal Statement

Hi there!

After being apart of the Women's World Championships in 2022 for team New Zealand, I want to gain experience from an international coaches and continue to play the game I am most passionate about at a high level. As a 17 year old in the team, I was able to make family with my older teammates. I was committed, determined, and coachable during the years of training, all while enjoying every second of the journey. I got along with everyone and pushed myself as well as my teammates, all while keeping up my school grades and having good time management so I achieve highly in my classes. Since I was a prefect in high school, and have have 2 years of university under my belt, I'm knowledgeable and able to handle tasks head on, with an open mind and a positive attitude. I am a hungry and hard working individual and I look up to Kenzie Kent for her achievements and hunger in lacrosse, while being a multi-sport athlete with ice hockey. I'm aspiring to learn and create a good education and playing experience abroad as I know there's unlimited things to learn in the world of lacrosse and myself!

Australian Senior Women's Nationals
6/8/22 to 6/12/22
New Zealand Women's team played in the Australian Senior Women's National tournament. This was a warm up tournament before the world cup in July 2022. I played in every game as a midfielder. I assisted in our team play's and put my name on the scoreboard for our country for my first time representing New Zealand.

New Zealand Secondary Schools Nationals
9/7/18 to 9/9/18
My first year playing lacrosse and in our varsity team with a number of New Zealand representatives in older years, as well as playing against New Zealand representatives. As a beginner to lacrosse I learnt an incredible amount of lacrosse IQ, physical strength and knowledge playing with and against amazing players. I played every game and assisted in the final with our second placing after a key member of our team (who was in the New Zealand Women's team) got injured with her ACL.

U18 New Zealand National Tournament
9/23/22 to 9/25/22
I represented Auckland (my regional team) in our Under 18's Premier team. We won this tournament for the first time in 5 years, after all getting 2nd. I made the Tournament Team as an attacker. This was a great learning and achievement from our hard work.

I was a travelling reserve for our New Zealand Team at the Women's World Cup 2022. I was one of the youngest and I got the privilege to play in the warm up games against Whales and the Netherlands. These two games put me in a position to again, play at an international level.

Each year (except covid years in 2020 and 2021) I represented my varsity high school team against schools from over the country. We got 2nd in 2019, but I was starting to become more confident as I was learning a lot more knowledge. And a proud achievement was making the tournament team.

I capatined our team in the U15 Nationals against other teams from our country. I got into the tournament team and got to be coached by Hilary Eyres who was an American coach who I learnt a lot from.

The Challenger Series 2022
1/7/22 to 1/9/22
This was a series where our New Zealand team competed against Waikato and Auckland select teams with men and women in them. Our team ended up winning the challenger series and I played midfield for our team. This was an event that was able to give the New Zealand coaching team guidance in selecting the team to play at world cup.
