Personal Statement
Hi my name is Piper and I'm a 17 year old who would love to study and play lacrosse at an American college!
From an early age I have always been involved in every sport which was offered to me. It started with touch rugby, netball, cycling, athletics, field hockey, and then eventually picked up lacrosse at the beginning of year 7. I started lacrosse because my friends told me about it, I signed up without knowing anything about the sport and instantly loved it. Ever since I was 12 years old, I have continued to play lacrosse at various levels, I will now go on to represent my country at the 2024 u20 women's lacrosse world championship in Hong Kong. I have played all positions in lacrosse but specify in defense because i am fast on the ground balls, aggressive with making contact and have good stick skills.
I would love to play lacrosse and get the American university experience at the same time. I aim to bring my 'kiwi attitude' of hard working, determined, and passionate towards both academics and Lacrosse.
In addition to lacrosse, I am as equally committed to getting high grades in school assessments. I work hard in class getting work done on time and completing it to a high standard. I also enjoy giving back to my school and helping when needed. I am a schoolhouse leader which involves organizing and speaking at events as well as completing jobs to help others in school. Being a house leader has taught me to be resilient, responsible, adaptable, flexible and to be confident in my decisions. I have transferred these skills over to leading my school lacrosse and field hockey team. These are the qualities I aim to bring to an American college. I am super excited to bring my New Zealand personality to a college and will definatly give everything my all!
