Personal Statement
I am excited to present to you my expression of interest. I am completing my final year of high school at Immanuel College in Adelaide, South Australia and play my club lacrosse with Glenelg Lacrosse Club. I am a member of the South Australian U18 women’s lacrosse team and a member of the Elite Athlete Program, Australian Under 23 Women’s Lacrosse Squad. I am a committed and high achieving student who would like to advance my academic studies at the same time as pursuing my passion for lacrosse at a world class institution . I am a versatile midfield player with a strong work ethic on and of the lacrosse field. My speed, agility and reaction time is an asset to every team I play for. With my high level of fitness and speed one of my strengths is to help transition the ball from defence to attack and to also get back into the defensive structure quickly when my team needs me. I can also go to goal when the opportunity presents scoring 21 goals for the GLC Seahawks in the 2021 season.
Success on the lacrosse field has been underpinned by a strong commitment to training. I am committed to a high training load with 6 squad sessions a week, a weekly stick and game skills session with my personal coach, running, and strength and conditioning sessions. I am proud that my commitment to training has resulted in my selection in the Australian Under 23 team to travel to the United States in June 2022. Our team will compete in the elite women’s division of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout in Colorado and the World Festival competition in Baltimore.
I graduate from year 12 at Immanuel College in December 2022. I am a committed student who has achieved good academic results throughout my time at high school. My subject choice in high school aligns with the NCAA eligibility requirements and a transcipt of results up to the end of year 11 has been submitted by Immanuel College with the NCAA Eligibility Centre. My areas of interest for undergraudate study are biology and other sciences. I have studied German languages throughout high school, completing year 12 German in year 11 and am hoping to continue this when I go to university.
In addition to my lacrosse and school commitments I also hold a casual job as a Crew Trainer at McDonalds, am a patrolling surf lifesaver at my local beach, and volunteer with a specialised surf program for young people with a disability.
