Michelle Farrell ...Personal Statement
Greetings coaches. I am Michelle Farrell, a 18 year old 5'6 Midfielder from Auckland, New Zealand. I am left hand dominant and take draw controls. I also play midfield. I am in my final year of high school and graduate in December 2022. I am captain of my school lacrosse team and I have recently represented New Zealand at the U18 Australia nationals tournament in Adelaide Australia during July this year.
I have grown up playing sports and I love playing lacrosse. My dream would be to study and play lacrosse at college in the US next year (2023). I would like to study engineering after I finish high school. It would be amazing to attend a university that could help provide me with an education in engineering and also allow me to represent them in women's lacrosse.
I have represented my city and country in lacrosse and I am always looking for more opportunities to do this. I love playing at this level in order to improve my skills and meet and learn from amazing coaches and players from around New Zealand. The next trial up and coming event is the NZ nationals tournament for 2022 which will be held at the end of September 2022. Coming up I will be trialing to represent Auckland.
On the field I value hard work and communication. I can play all positions and be where my team needs me to be. I always love taking a fast break from a draw but can also slow down the game and move the ball around. I am a diverse player with a passion for this game. I have grown up always playing sports so I always take what I can from past sports and apply it to lacrosse. I believe my lacrosse IQ makes me a valuable player to my coaches and my teammates. I am coachable, I have a great attitude and I love the game.
