I am looking for a school that will challenge me academically and provide me with an opportunity to grow and compete on the lacrosse field. I have been playing lacrosse since I could walk, though officially since my dad started coaching my Kindergarten team. While I am often the smallest person on the field, one trait that sets me apart from others is that I am motivated to get better because I love the game. I talk with my friends about it, I talk with strangers about it, I run through scenarios in my head, I dream about it. On the field I make up for my size with my footwork, stick skills, lax IQ, loud voice, and enjoyment of playing lacrosse. Growing up in Woolwich, Maine, it is not always easy to find extra opportunities to play lacrosse, but I seek them out whenever I can. I play in tournaments, attend extra strength-training and workout opportunities, and I participate in winter programs. At home I love to get my dad (who played lacrosse at Dickinson College) onto the lawn to help me with my shooting and dodging and bring my younger brother and sister into the fun as well. When lacrosse is on TV, my dad and I find time to watch it both for fun and to learn new moves. As lacrosse is not the only thing I love to do, I hope to find a school with a lacrosse program that will not only challenge me on the field, but push me mentally and physically to improve my whole being.
