My name is Emma McDevitt, I am a defensive midfielder and I am 5’4 and 123 lbs. As a player, I always believe that you can do anything you want even if you start later than most. I started lacrosse in 8th grade after my friends asked me to join becase they didn’t have enough players for a team. Ever since then I fell in love with the sport and have continued to push myself further each day out of determination to be best player so that I won’t let my team down. I picked up the sport easily, I won an “honor the game” award from my past club team, Mohawks, during my first year of playing lacrosse and my second year (freshman year) of playing lacrosse I made it onto my highschool’s junior varsity team as a starting midfielder. As I adventured through the different positions of lacrosse, still very new to the sport, I found that I enjoyed and performed the best at defense. I have always had a leader-like personality and I prefer to take charge, organize, and communicate with my team so that we as a team can do better. Im a hard worker, I took all honors my first year of highschool and ended the year with a 3.8177 GPA as well as became the class president of my year while still participating in sports. On top of lacrosse I am apart of my high school’s first ever girls wrestling team. I strive to be better and I strive to put everything I have and just a little bit more in order to get the upperhand and I never stop at satisfactory. After falling in love with the intense, fast paced, and high pressure sport, ive grown to appreciate every single aspect of it, whether its being corrected, told to do more sprints, or even losing a game because I know that all those happen so that I can learn, grow, and make my team better.
