As the child of a firefighter, I grew up immersed in the firehouse environment. This unique upbringing allowed me to witness firsthand the remarkable camaraderie and teamwork exhibited by my mother and her fellow firefighters. Just like a sports team, they relied on each other's expertise and support to accomplish their critical mission of ensuring public safety and returning home safely after each operation.
My experience as a three-sport athlete, encompassing field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse, has been instrumental in shaping my personal and professional development. Each sport has imparted valuable lessons that extend beyond the field or court, influencing my approach to various aspects of life. Being part of a team sport underscores the significance of collaboration and mutual reliance in achieving a common objective. Success hinges on each individual's commitment to excellence, even while performing diverse roles. This experience has instilled in me the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, fostering respect and understanding even amidst differences. This skillset proves invaluable in both professional and personal contexts.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I have gained valuable experience through my involvement in two distinct educational institutions. I am currently enrolled at The Academy of Law and Public Safety, a vocational school that specializes in preparing students for careers in public service. Simultaneously, I am an active participant in the sports program at Middletown High School North. This dual enrollment has taught me the crucial skill of time management, enabling me to effectively balance my academic responsibilities, athletic commitments, and various other aspects of my life.
As I embark on my college journey, I intend to pursue a degree in criminal justice. My aspiration is to eventually become an officer in a missing person unit, where I can leverage my knowledge and skills to assist families in locating their missing loved ones and provide them with the support they need during such a challenging time.
