Katherine Finnegan '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9 starting defender, 4-year varsity player from Madison, NJ.  I am a year-round athlete, as I am also a member of the varsity soccer and basketball teams at Madison High School.  I give my all in every sport, but lacrosse has been my passion since third grade. 

Playing sports year-round has taught me the importance of hard work but also time management. I push myself to achieve at the highest levels academically by taking a rigorous honors and AP course load, and my weighted GPA is currently 4.5. I am a member of the National Honor Society and a recent recipient of the Madison Rotary Club Essay Contest Award.  

On the field my strengths are my ability to anticipate plays, execute on strategy and maintain disciplined focus.  My coaches have told me I am a highly coachable, confident and diligent player. I make fitness a priority and in the periods between seasons I work with a personal trainer to increase my speed and strength on the field.  

When I am not playing a sport or studying I am an active member of the Youth Ministry at my local church.  I lead retreats for high school students several times a year and also coordinate volunteer programs.  For the past two summers I have traveled to Appalachia on service trips to repair homes for local residents.

I am looking for a school where I can be challenged academically and also be a solid contributor to a competitive lacrosse program.  I am open to locations nationwide.  Thank you for your consideration.
