On the field, I am known to be a confident player, with a loud positive voice that leads.
On and off the field my drive to grow pushes me and those around me in all aspects of my life. At school I take pride in taking challenging courses that push me to learn. Dual-enrollment studies through Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickinson University have allowed me to earn college credits towards my health career studies while still in high school. I enjoy multiple clubs, such as DECA and HOSA, that push me to take my studies and interests outside of the classroom to compete in role-play styled events to help me prepare for my future. In my community, I enjoy my role as a lector at our youth Masses and participating as an Antioch Youth Group Leader for high school students . This year I started my first “official” part-time job at a local non-profit in our town, The National Winter Activity Center. Working with at-risk children teaching them how to ski and mentoring young people is inspiring.
My Match Fit Academy Coach, Rob McOmish, once stated, “Katie plays multiple sports in high school and is extremely athletic. Katie moves tremendously throughout the field and has great ability when shifting left to right or front to back.” Throughout my life, athletics have helped me develop to be the person I am today. But most importantly, I am learning life skills that continue to allow me to grow and learn. My favorite Coach Rob quote about me as a player involves my commitment to sport and the greater good. “Great personality and a tremendous teammate. Always thinking about her team first and pushes other players to practice and play at high level.” I look forward to meeting new people, learning, and continuing to grow through college athletics.
