I grew up playing three different sports and choosing lacrosse was the best choice I could have made. I have been playing lacrosse since fifth grade. In my eight grade year I was named one of the three defensive captions and even though I became injured that didn’t stop me from going to practice to do my job. In both of my two years of high school I played JV and started both years. In my sophomore year I became a sub on the varsity team. During the states tournaments I was moved up to varsity full time. I played three of the five games. Going to the states games made me realize what it takes to play at a higher level. Even though we didn’t win, losing made me want to prove that we could. It has motivated me to practice harder so I can help my team reach that goal.
I want to compete on a team that will help me grow as a player, student, and person. I am used to handling lots of responsibility being the oldest of three girls and having a terminally sick parent. Having a hard school course load along with lacrosse and my home life has made me great at time management. I want to work hard and earn my place on the team and am fully committed to making that happen.
