Quitting the sport you played competitively for 12 years (soccer) is not the easiest thing on the planet, and finding something to do with all that extra time is even harder. In the beginning I thought I would just focus on running, but one of my teammates invited me to an open lacrosse practice and I fell in love. It was just different enough from soccer that I had to learn the basics, but once that was done I easily transferred my soccer knowledge to lacrosse and I excelled. My first ever season playing lacrosse I had the most JV assists and scored four goals for JV, at the same time I worked my way up to starting as a defender for the varsity team. Lacrosse has taught me so much about myself and the people around me and I’m excited to continue my journey with it.
