My goal is to find a community-oriented school and major in psychology. A community-oriented school is important to me because I believe in giving back and volunteering as many of the sports and activities I've done in my life have only been possible because of the work of volunteers. I want to study psychology because I'm interested in how the mind works and being able to help people.
I've played lacrosse since I was 4, starting in box lacrosse and continuing into both boys and girls field. I've played numerous positions over the years and I've always been willing to step into a position if my team needed me. In box lacrosse I started as a player and moved to goalie for a season when we needed one. I started as a goalie in boys field and played a season of long pole when we were short there. In girls field I've played every position. I'm comfortable on defence, midfield or attack. I've also filled in as a goalie over the years when needed. I've been a starter on my high school team in both of my first 2 years. I've also played on my U19 club team since I was 13. I was named as a captain for both my high school and club team this year.
This past summer I also refereed both box lacrosse and girls field.
I'm also a flag football player and I've played quarterback, centre and multiple positions on defence. Up until last year, I was a competitive dancer as well. I did tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop and contemporary and competed as a solo, duo, trio and both small and large groups.
Over the years I've volunteered in both dance and lacrosse. In dance, I've volunteered during summer camps and as a demonstrator for younger ages. In lacrosse I've volunteered as an instructor in camps, refereeing middle school tournaments, field setup and desk administration. I've also been an assistant coach in box lacrosse and this past summer I was an assistant coach for our U15 club team.
