Hailey Mielkie '20 Recruiting Profile

Growing up in a military family I know the meaning of hard work, commitment, loyalty, and selflessness. I work hard every single day to excel in all of my classes, including my AP and Honors classes resulting in being in the top 10% of my class, and additionally out on the lacrosse field to help and encourage my team to perform at its best. My love and commitment for lacrosse over the past nine years has enabled me to play on many different school and club teams all year round. I have never missed a lacrosse game, even with an injury, stressing my commitment and loyalty to my teammates even if it just cheering them on from the sidelines. Being a defense captain over the past two years, I have learned that I think fast on my feet and I have good communication skills necessary for getting my teammates to work together toward the same goal. I feel that selflessness is one of my greatest attributes off the lacrosse field as I enjoy visiting nursing homes and assisted living facilities with my certified therapy dog to provide companionship and comfort to many in my community.

Looking forward, I would love to play lacrosse at the collegiate level. It is important to me that I am challenged academically as well as athletically on the field. I’m undecided as to the specific degree that I would like to attain but I’m leaning toward an Architecture or Medical degree. Currently I’m enrolled in a small high school and appreciate the benefits that come along with a small town, however, I am equally open to the possibilities of becoming a part of a larger community. I feel that I would be an asset to any lacrosse team because of my hard work, commitment, loyalty, and selflessness.
