Hi, my name is Kaya Mallon and I became a goalie in 7th grade. I immediately fell in love with the position after the first game. In my opinion, nothing beats the adrenaline rush you get when you make a save or the overwhelming feeling of happiness when you help your team get a win. I communicate very well with my teammates on and off the field. When it comes to both athletics and academics, I am always looking for ways to improve. Whether it is coming out of my cage to intercept a pass in the 8 meter or surprising the other team by running the ball down the field, I am always looking for new ways to be an asset for my team. In the classroom I challenge myself by balancing honors classes, multiple clubs, and lacrosse. I embrace criticism from my coaches on ways that I can improve my game. Something that I feel makes me different from other goalies is my mobility and confidence on the field. I always try to play to my strengths and use my athleticism to keep my opponents speculating as to what I am going to do next.
