I feel that my life has been influenced by my family. For me, my sister was always around. Although she was six years older, I really developed my personality by spending time with her and being able to create a bond with her. My academic goal for high school is to graduate and be able to go to a four-year college for nursing. Once I get to college, I want to be able to graduate with a Nursing degree and have the ability to pursue a career as a trauma flight nurse. One of the struggles that I had to overcome in my life was having a learning disability and dyslexia. This obstacle helped me to have fortitude and determination to get where I need to go because of the amount of effort I needed to put in to be at the same level as my classmates. Another obstacle I had to overcome was a knee injury which helped me grow my faith and have a stronger connection with God. During my recovery period, I did not have any connection with sports which is a big part of my identity, and during this difficult time, I found great comfort with staying connected to my faith and God. This stronger connection was grown because I got injured and really did not have an identity outside of sports. But, I then found an identity in Christ. Some of my unique characteristics are that I advocate for myself and others, along with not being afraid to try hard things. Also, I am very organized and have a great sense of time management. Lastly, I am caring and love to help my community through volunteering.
I became interested in sports when I was five. I started lacrosse and swimming because my sister did and I looked up to her. I have gone through many different sports but I always had a passion for lacrosse. Playing sports has shown that I am able to work well with all types of personalities. I really started dedicating my playing time to defense because I found a stronger sense of teamwork and communication and found this to be rewarding. Playing defense is a selfless position which helps the entire team to achieve their common goal.
