I found the love i have for lacrosse in 6th grade. I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years and the last year of me competing I started lacrosse and the second I stepped on the field I instantly fell in love with the sport but my season was cut short. I was at a gymnastics competition is Florida and the beam collapsed while i was mid dismount, the doctors told me i was going to be paralyzed, i lost feeling in the right side of my body for 2 weeks and they said it was a miracle i ever gained feeling back. I was forced to quit gymnastics, after 4 months of not being able to walk i was finally able to get back to playing lacrosse. It has been an outlet for me and a way i escape from the problems i face at home. I have been a straight A student since 1st grade. I fell off track and got diagnosed with bipolar depression this year after my uncle was murdered and my dads drug habit got worse but the one thing that kept me going and the only reason i felt i had to get out of bed everyday was lacrosse. I know im not the best and I still have WAY more to learn but im open to it. When a coach or anyone tells me something i need to work it that is all i think about and i try my hardest to correct it, it never leaves my mind until it is corrected. I am a perfectionist even though i do not want to be at times it helps me a lot when it comes to me being on the field. I am an outgoing person but I get quiet and in my own zone when on the field. I love bonding with all my teams because i feel as if i play better when im on a team that feels like family. I have formed amazing bonds with so many people over lacrosse. It has made a huge impact on my life. I am in student council and also play volleyball. I want to go further with lacrosse because every second im on the field it helps me through so much wether i realize it in the moment or not.
