Before converting to only playing lacrosse, I was a tri-sport athlete doing gymnastics, swimming, and lacrosse. I did gymnastics for 4 years, and for 3 of the 4 years, I was on a travel team. I swam for the swim team in the summer and have been playing club lacrosse for 4 years. From playing these sports, I got to experience how to become an encouraging teammate and how to contribute the most I can to my team. I was a team captain for 2 years on my middle school gymnastics team, which gave me lots of opportunities to learn how to be a respectful and responsible leader. Something else I learned was how much dedication and hard work it is to play a competitive sport. That was a factor in why I switched to solely playing lacrosse; I enjoy the competitiveness of it and how fun it is to play. Last year, I was on Freeman High School’s JV team and started every game. This year, I am on Varsity for Freeman and we won states. I practice every day, whether that is stickwork, footwork, shooting, or merely goofing off with teammates on an off day. I also am a fair player. I can get rough on the field, but also know how to be a lighthearted and fun teammate. Having a good relationship and bond with my teammates is one of my top priorities because happens off the field contributes to what happens on the field. I want to have a good flow on the field and know how my teammates play so I can feed a pass or set up a play more easily. I have learned so much from lacrosse and I want to keep getting better and better. I strive to be not only the best player but also the best teammate. If a teammate makes a mistake, I encourage them and help them learn from it. If they drop a ball, I hustle to get the ground ball and play good defense. I always like to get my stick in my hand at least once a day. I also dedicate time to improve and grow my mental health, as well as my physical body. I also love drawing, painting, and designing I often design and create my own clothing. Working at my mom's tea shop has sparked my imagination for my own tea shop one day, so I would love to learn more about business and entrepreneurship.
