Lacrosse has taught me how to challenge myself. I started playing lacrosse in 4th grade and pretty much started playing goalie immediately. The goalie position is special to me because I consider it the hardest. You must rewire your brain and resist the instinct to protect yourself from the incoming ball. The satisfaction of getting better at something that feels impossible cannot be beaten, and that's what makes it so fun! Through being a goalie, I have learned never to give up, no matter how many times I am pushed down. Because although being scored on can feel brutal, the feeling of a save makes it worth it. I have seen this learned passion for conquering tough obstacles translate to other parts of my life. The biggest is that I now can see the fun in challenging myself in school, which I thought I would always be blind to. I cannot remember when I have not played a sport, whether basketball, volleyball, or lacrosse. And I believe that this has changed me for the better. Besides sports, I also love to draw making any kind of art such as paintings! I also am really interesting in history and anthropology, and I want to persue one of these in college.
I have been Team Captain for my Mount Si Team for 2 year now, along with winning MVP Freshman year and three game balls last year. And, this winter, I was invited to play with the U20 National Italian Lacrosse team in the Olympic training center in Italy.
I am also running on my highschool's Cross Country team! Which I won an Outstanding Scholastic Award for.
