Maya Sarram '25 Recruiting Profile

Meet Maya Sarram, a 16-year-old girl born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Maya started rowing the summer before her freshman year and was instantly obsessed. Ever since then, she has felt a strong connection to the sport and is constantly striving to improve herself both on and off the water. Maya's rowing experience is unique since she competed for three seasons as a rower before switching to coxswaining. While this was a big change, she has found that her rowing experience has only helped her become a better coxswain for her teammates. She can now make more effective calls and help her boat with techniques that she herself had to learn. Maya was the team manager for the 2023 Youth Nationals trip, and she looks forward to running for team captain senior year. 

Outside of rowing, she is a hardworking student at Kent Denver School and is involved with multiple extracurriculars, including speech and debate. She recently got accepted into the position of a 2024 candidate for the Student Visionary of the Year campaign run by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She is so excited to be a part of this and to have the opportunity to raise money for such a life-changing organization where she can give back to the community in big ways!
