Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Marissa Macaro, (I'm the one in the purple shirt in the picture) I'm currently a junior at Farmington high school in Connecticut. This spring 2017 will be my 4th season on first boat varsity. I love my team and I love the sport of rowing!  My current 4K time is 16:51 with a split of 2:06.5 (tested on 9/12/2016) Rowing has taught me many things like self discipline and how hard work can pay off.  Before my freshman year of high school I had no idea what crew was but, after my first day on the water, I really fell in love with the sport.  One of the things I've learned is that you must do everything with passion and my dream is to continue that love and passion of rowing beyond high school and into college.  This coming year I will serve as the captain of my rowing team,  as well as the vice president of my class.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
