Hello! My name is Katharine Cokeley and I am a junior from North Carolina. I attend Miss Porter's School, an all-girls boarding school in Farmington, Connecticut. I played volleyball for 6 years before trying out for crew my freshman spring. I absolutely fell in love with the sport and with the help of coaches and my mentors, I grew more confident and experienced on the water as well as the erg. During the 2023 spring season, I PR'ed twice on my 2k as well as being elected co-captain. Rowing has become a constant in my life, something that will always be there, something to always turn to. I have recently been accepted into the RSR Elite Girls U17 which I cannot wait for! Along with rowing, I make sure to keep my academics up, being on the honor roll, as well as participating in clubs at my school. I am the head of FaceUp, which is our activist organization as well as Lean on We, a club that focuses on fundraising for teens in the foster care system. Along with rowing being a big part of my personality, I make sure to keep other aspects of myself. Rowing has allowed me to develop communication skills, discipline, and leadership that have made me a better person as well as a better teammate.
