Hello! My name is Summit Mock and I am a junior at Greenwich Academy. I am a class of 2025 coxswain for Greenwich Crew, and I am looking to continue coxing to the collegiate level. I was introduced to rowing in my eighth grade when I spontaneously signed up for crew as my school spring PE sport. Since we were still coming out of COVID-19, that season took place at my school solely on ergs. It wasn't until my freshman fall season that we made it to the water. I learned the basics of the stroke rowing my freshman fall, and I quickly fell in love with the sport. When the spring season came around I started to wonder if I would like being a coxswain. Given my small stature and my mighty personality, I knew I needed to give it a try. The next day, I was placed in the coxswain seat and, since then, I never looked back! Freshman spring season I had fully transitioned to being a coxswain and I LOVED it. When summer arrived, I started to reach out to club teams to take my love for coxing to a more competitive level. I connected with Greenwich Crew because of their team depth, rigor and utmost team culture. I just completed my full sophomore year competing with Greenwich Crew and I cannot wait for the years to come. I feel so grateful to be a part of such an empowering community of rowers and I am looking for an equally challenging, hardworking, and supportive collegiate team. I hope to be pushed both on the water and in the classroom. I come from a competitive school and athletic environment, and I hope to find a school that can provide this same rigor. I am eager to continue to grow my skills as a coxswain and individual with a diligent group of rowers!
