Academic achievement has been very important to me in high school and I plan to continue to focus on my studies throughout college. I have been rowing for four years. Rowing has impacted my ability to work with others and not scapegoat a single person for a loss, but to accept it has a whole and work to correct the mistakes together. Stretching myself and my abilities to reach new places in my rowing career has become part of why I love rowing. I can always improve but never reach perfection. I have taken my hardworking character, developed by rowing, and applied it to achievement at school. The motivation required to row -- to push to the last second, to lower the split, to sprint -- translates to my motivation for school. This motivation drives me to finish the problem, to study longer, to persist in the line of difficulty, regardless of temptation and distractions. Thank you.
