I envision my college experience to be a time of exploration. Currently, I am unsure of my major and would like to take the first couple of years of college to explore my options and find what subjects I love. I am currently pursuing a STEM certificate at my high school, and I hope that my first few years of undergrad will allow me to continue this exploration within the field. I am in search of an institution with academics that can challenge me, as I am top of my class. I aim to continue my education after undergrad and obtain a doctorate. I think my incredible work ethic is my biggest strength. My experience as an elite endurance triathlete for over 11 years now has taught me the skills of grit, drive, and dedication. I will strive to be an asset wherever I end up whether starboard, port, stroke, or bow. I can be counted on to give my best effort. Triathlon has been a major part of my life and led me to give rowing a shot in my freshman year of high school. Since then, I have fallen in love with rowing and can't imagine not competing in it after high school. I love all aspects of rowing from grinding out 2ks to loops around the lake. Most importantly, I hope to be a leader on the team with my experience as a crew captain since my sophomore year of high school and conduct myself with good sportsmanship and honor to respect the school I chose to attend. Sports have been a major part of my life, and doing more beyond sports to give back to my community is something I really believe in. As the President of the Time to Tri Youth Foundation, I have strived to give back to the sport of triathlon by making the sport more accessible to youth and encouraging participation through my book "Grit" (available on Amazon), talks at schools, and youth clinics. I hope that my future team will hold similar values and strive to give back to the sports community.
