Last year after a successful Varsity Alpine ski season I took up rowing and it has taught me so much about perseverance, determination, and teamwork. I joined the novice team at the Connecticut Boat Club in the spring of 2019 and was asked to row in my first regatta one week on the team. The competitive environment and energy my teammates created made our first-place finish very special and made me strive to become a stronger and more technical rower. With steady improvements, I realized rowing is a sport I can continue to push myself in and I would want to continue to compete at the collegiate level. Over the past year, I have given up ski racing and committed myself to rowing. I have learned how to manage my time with practice, races, and school which has helped me develop a better work ethic. Being a part of this team has shown me how dedication and practice can help you become a better athlete and student. I am looking for a school that will be able to challenge me academically while still being able to support my rowing career.
