I am driven, motivated, and determined to be a successful person. My willingness to push myself beyond my own expectations always seems to amaze me. I am not exactly sure what my purpose is in life, but I have two younger brothers and 3 younger cousins that all look up to me. Therefore failure is not an option. Rowing is a sport that is new to me, but I am just as passionate and detected as my teammates that have been rowing for years. I wanted to participate in the sport because I was looking for ways to ensure and increase my chances of getting scholarships for college. I wish it was a sport that was introduced to me at an early age, but growing up in the inner city left very few options to participate in elite sports. When I was presented with the opportunity to row my mom was a little hesitate, mainly because I go to a performing arts school from 8 am to 5 pm everyday, and most days I had rehearsal that usually ended around 9 or 10 pm. Nonetheless, I was ready to push my self a little more. I've been able to keep my GPA above a 3.5, row, help out with my siblings when needed, and maintain a healthy social life. I'm thankful for my family who have been extremely supportive of me and my decisions. I'm ready, I'm ready to give even more of me. My potential is limitless.
