I'm a dedicated and strategic coxswain with a proven track record of leadership and success. Possessing strong skills in steering, race strategy, and team coordination, I excel at motivating team members and optimizing performance under pressure. I am determined to be a coxswain at a good college, and help my team do its best in every race.
I'm fortunate to be a member of Sarasota Crew, one of the premier clubs in the county, where I've been a coxswain since eighth grade. I've had the opportunity to cox 4s and 8s, and both men and women. This has broadened my experience and allowed me to learn how to adjust to different competitive styles and situations.
On the TAP scale, I'm a "Maverick." And when I took the DISC Athlete Profile Test at "The 9th Seat," Mary Whipple's coxswain camp, I ranked 98% on the "Influencer" scale, which I believe is a good quality for a cox, who must be able to influence other athletes. As a coxswain, I know how important it is to get feedback. Asking my teammates and coaches on how I can continue to improve is helping me get better every day. I love everything about the sport, including the need to be organized and disciplined, which helps me in all aspects of life.
This year I'll be a senior at Pine View School for the Gifted, one of the top public high schools in the county. I was elected to be Editor-in-Chief for the High School Yearbook and Co-President of the Asian Advocacy Club.
