Personal Statement

Thank you for stopping by today! My name is Ashlyn Elwood, and I'm the 2021-2022 Captain of St. Andrew Rowing Club. We're the premier rowing team in Atlanta, competing regionally with Sarasota Crew, OARS, and Winter Park en route to Nationals. I attend Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia, which 'US News and World Report' ranks as one of the top 200 high schools in the United States. I balance a rigorous course load and aggressive training plan with a little bit of creativity... sometimes munching on snacks in the shower to keep fueled up or fitting in an extra erg workout during lunch! My goal is to attend an excellent university where I can major in medical physics (I ultimately want to become a radiologist) while rowing with a great group of girls. My nickname is Smashlyn- - "Smash" for short- - and I pride myself on being able to move the boat.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
