Shaylin Tombs '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Shaylin Tombs and I am 5'6, 145 pound athlete on the varsity crew team at Bedford High School. My freshman year, I started off as a stroke seat and sophomore year I made my way to 6 and 4 seat in the boat. And now my junior year I rowed 2 seat throughout the spring season. I think this makes me a universal rower and a strong rower throughout the boat. As a novice I won the sportsmanship and bulldog award, demonstrating my dedictation to my team and my work ethic. I will continue to build on these attributes as my rowing career continues.

My goal is to row for a D1 or D2 school. I believe I have the potential to succeed at the highest levels. Crew is a very demanding sport which requires a commitment of time and hard work. Rowing has provided me with an outlet for me to step away from my busy life and focus on the sport I love.
