Personal Statement

My personal 2K best on Concept 2 is 7.35 mins. I would love to continue rowing in college. After running since I was 6 or 7 years old and upon entering Lawrenceville, I gave rowing a try and loved it. In my junior year, Coach Teeley suggested that I consider college recruitment for rowing. However, it did not register that I could row in college as I was unaware of lightweight teams. I was rowing for the sheer joy of rowing. Time comes to a halt when I am on the water. As an early riser, I have always enjoyed the sunrise and the cool air on my face. I am outdoors running 3-5 miles every morning year-round, rain or snow, except on the days I crew. Being outdoors is a panacea for me. I am also inspired by those who are better than me and inspire others to outdo their best expectation of themselves. Whatever I do, I give it my best and try to push past my limits. I will row and run for life. My official 1-mile time is 5:32, I was #1 for the NYC half marathon in March 2023 for U19 with a time of 1:30:27 or a 6:30 minute mile pace. I was #11 for all women at the Reykjavik August 2023 full marathon with a time of 3:30:45 or an 8-minute pace. I am aware that it is no simple task to balance college coursework with the demands of athletic rowing but my determined nature and grit both on and off water allow me to push past any challenge. At my school, I have the most rigorous coursework possible (all Honors courses) while being a tri-varsity athlete. I have consistently been disciplined and pride myself on perseverance and endurance. I hope you will consider me in your search for the class of 2028. It will be a privilege.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
