Hi, my name is Gemma Carmody and I am dedicated. I have been rowing since the 7th grade, but 2023 marked the start of my official training. At my club, Rockland Rowing Association, I was honored with the “OAR BREAKER” award, given to only those who show unwavering commitment or in a more informal way “those who do not give it up”. While recognition is always appreciated, I am highly self-driven and look forward to improving each season, striving to make both myself and my boats faster alongside my teammates. Academically, I approach my studies with the same drive that I bring to the lake, ensuring that I excel both on and off the water. In addition to my competitive drive, I'm known for my team spirit. I organize team events, coordinate post-practice breakfasts, and mediate conflicts. My welcoming attitude and ever-present smile make me an asset to my team.
