I started rowing the summer before my Freshman year of High School. Since that summer and throughout the rest of my training, I have learned just how critical the rowing technique is. From my first day at learn to row till now, I have been taught that technique is close to everything you need to know to be successful in rowing. My coaches have always made it clear that having an amazing split time is not going to get you everywhere, having strength and using it efficiently is what's going to get you to the top. My team and I have been using that tactic to help us achieve impressive results in prestigious regattas such as the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, which I have placed silver two years in a row in quad categories.
I look forward to the rest of my fall and spring seasons this senior year as well as being one of the captains of my crew team. Rowing has become a large part of my life and it's something I can't imagine not doing when going to college. I hope to be adding rowing into my college career and building myself in the classroom and on the crew team.
