In the course of one year, rowing has taught me how to be apart of a team, given me a sense of direction and most importantly provided me with a steady foundation to build the rest of my life on. I truly aspire to be a part of the rowing community in my future, as I will continue to work hard and strive for new goals.
I believe that I am a great candidate for the position of a varsity coxswain in college. Not only do I have high academics, but I am committed to this sport and have a growing love for it. Though I have only been exposed to rowing for a year so far, I have coxswained for many various athletes of all levels, competed at Head of the Charles and won "Coxswain of the Year" at my local boat club. I am positive that as I continue my high school career with rowing, I will gain so many more opportunities that will be beneficial to any crew I am placed with. My ability to quickly learn and grow is a highly demanded characteristic for coxswains. I am more than willing to bring these traits into the clubs/schools who want me.
