I am very interested in continuing to row beyond high-school. I have a passion for rowing and look forward to every time I can get on the water. I believe I am a standout candidate for rowing because of my height and strength and my overall athletic ability. I've also played basketball and volleyball for many years. I am a very quick learner and continually improve my rowing technique.
I am new to rowing - I began rowing less than one year ago, in the Fall of 2013. Since then, I broke my High School novice 2K record at 8:00.7. It was previously held by an athlete who went on to get a full scholarship for rowing at the University of Louisiville. I participated in a biathlon where I came in 2nd on Ergs and 7th overall. In total, I participated in three winter indoor sprints and medaled in two.
I also participated in the CRASHB world indoor rowing championship sprint event in Boston.
As a Freshman novice, I placed third on the Erg times within the entire girl's high school team.
I am currently rowing for a summer travel camp held by North Allegheny HS. I will be rowing in a single, double, quad, and octuple.
I take academics very seriously - I won't accept anything lower and an "A" - I will work and do whatever it takes to do the very best that I can. I also believe that good grades, or anything else in life, doesn't come to me, I have to go to it. Everything in life takes work to accomplish your goals. I never settle for average.
I never follow - I believe in being a trend-setter and a leader. In situations that I am a part of, I often stand out as the leader because of my outgoing and persistent personality.
Overall, I love life. I love everything about it. From the people that I know, to my family, to the things that I do everyday.
