My name is Maci Brede and I have been rowing since August 2023. The discovery of rowing has had a major impact on my junior year and I couldn't imagine a college experience without rowing. Before rowing I was a competitive runner and basketball player, having a background in sports helped me acclimate to rowing and gain a love for the sport. The reliability on yourself and others is a characteristic in rowing I have found in no other sports. The bond made with teammates is something that I know will last a lifetime. I want to row in college and continue to be someone my teammates can rely on to always give 100% effort. Not only am I looking to continue rowing in college, but I also want to set myself up for life after college. Getting a degree and being career ready is very important to me, and I strive to be the best student and rower I can be.
