I have been rowing since my freshman year of high school, and participated in competitive sports since I was 7. Competition and sports have always been such an important aspect of my life and I an looking for the right school that will enable me to succeed in my athletics and academics. I want to be able join another competitive team and help to make my new team the best it can be.
I was stroke seat in the JV 8 last year until I suffered a sever head concussion that set me back. I refused to give up on my goals and abandon my team during peak competition, so I fought back to get back on track academically and athletically and got a clean bill of health just in time for regionals. The JV 8 ended up winning the Northwest regionals by open water.
I am currently in my 3rd season of club rowing as a junior, and I am one of the more experienced rowers on the team. My goals for this year are to improve on my erg scores as much as I can, to be able to hold my seat in the Varsity 8 by working hard every practice, and I want to be a leader for some of the younger rowers to make the team the best we can be this fall and spring season.
