Soccer is my passion and getaway. I would rather be covered in grass stains, mud, and sweat than makeup and fancy clothes. I'm always looking for opportunities to get better, rain or shine. Whether private sessions with goalkeeper coaches or training with a teammate on off days, pushing myself to improve and grow as a player is very important to me.
As a goalkeeper, I'm willing to sacrifice anything and everything to stop a shot from going in, even at the expense of my body. Aggressiveness comes naturally to me. One of my most important jobs as a keeper is to use my voice to communicate, direct, and lead my team. Over my years of playing soccer, I've played every position, and this has helped me to comprehend what is happening in the game and how I can direct my team. It also allows me to understand my teammates' movements and options of play with the ball.
I've been exposed to many different coaching styles, including those of coaches who have played professionally both in the United States and internationally. This has helped me to view the game from different perspectives and has allowed me to develop as a player.
Soccer drives me academically as well. Without upholding good grades, I wouldn't be able to pursue my passion of playing soccer at a higher level.
