Personal Statement

My goal is to become a physiotherapist. It is a dream of mine to continue to compete and grow in the sport I love, while still gaining knowledge so I can have the career that I desire. I am very determined to do whatever it takes to fulfill my responsibilities on the field, and in the class room. I already know how important it is to be very good at time management, simply because I was training 10 times a week in my sophomore year.  Yes, it was stressful, but I really crave to do it all over again. I differ from others because I set my own expectations with everything I do. I know what I am capable of,  and it is a goal of mine to reach my highest capability and even stretch that further.  There is no point in training if you aren't looking to improve.  I  also realize that you need to go out of you comfort zone to accomplish things. If I am uncomfortable because I am learning something new or I'm not good at something, I take it as a challenge.

Club Information

  • Seasons of Club Experience
  • 2 seasons
  • 2015 Hearts United (Women's Premier Level )
  • I just started playing with this team in July of 2015. Being the youngest player on the team, I have still been honored enough to be the team's only goalkeeper. Most of the women I play with are 21-22 years old. When we did well in Division 1, we were moved up to the Premier Level for this season
  • 2015 Southwest United Sports Club (U18 Tier 2)
  • I have been on this club team for 6 years, and I have always had the spot for the starting goalkeeper. Southwest United has always done well in league, whether it be indoor or outdoor.

Training

  • I train with my club team, women's team, and goalkeeping academy
  • 7 years
  • My club team is currently training 4 times per week (where I am the only keeper), my women's team has one practice and one game a week (where I am also the only keeper), and my goalkeeping academy (Last Line of Defense) trains twice per week. At Last Line of Defense, we train with people that are at the same skill level so we can always get the best training possible due to some healthy competition.
  • Club Team
  • 6 years
  • Southwest United trains 4 times per week. There has always been high expectations when it comes to my training in particular because my head coach is also a goalkeeper coach, but now I am also the only keeper. I love training with Southwest united because I enjoy the responsibility of my position, but I am also expected to do well outside my net. When I have fast feet and quick decision making, this makes me more comfortable in goal.
  • Last Line of Defense Goalkeeping Academy
  • 7 years
  • All of Tomasz's goalkeepers are put into different groups based on the keeper's skill level. This makes sure that the keeper is training with people that will give them competition to train harder and ensure growth as a player. I started from the lowest of the levels, and worked my way up to the very top over the years. We typically use half of the session time for fitness and strength training.
  • Regional Performance Center
  • 1 year
  • I was first part of the Regional Performance Center in April of 2014. They take the best players in and around the city area and create a team that trains three times a week together after school. The goalkeepers trained with the players, as well as receiving goalkeeper specific training. I was part of RPC until May of 2015

Additional Sports

  • Basketball
  • 1 year
  • Varsity Team
  • I was on the Senior basketball team in Junior High School (Junior High has grades 7-9). I was only an eighth grader, and I was starting post for a team that was to play against teams that had very experienced ninth graders. I learned a lot in that one yea

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsIn my sophomore year, I qualified for the first part of the Rutherford scholarship. You need an average above 80% for all three years of high school in order to actually receive the money when you graduate. This also means that I am an honor student.
  • ActivitiesI was in concert ensemble last year. I played the tenor saxophone and we had multiple concerts and many practices at lunch time. I've had to give it up due to the fact that I am taking 7 core classes in one year and I don't have time for it.
