My name is Kailey Fitzsimons and I live in Alberta, Canada. I have played soccer since the age of 3 and from then I knew that soccer was the sport that I wanted to play for the rest of my life. When I play soccer I love the feeling of the ball at my foot, and the thrill I get when I put the ball into the back of the net. By playing soccer I have learned many things about myself, such as how hard I can push myself, time management skills and making sacrifices. Soccer has also taught me other values including the importance of practice and teamwork.
Academically, I keep very high standards for myself. I love to learn and find education very important, so I put in the effort to maintain a GPA above 3.8. To me a post secondary education is super important, and I want to excel in all of my classes. I can also imagine myself playing soccer in University because from a young age I have dreamed of getting a soccer scholarship. This has become a goal of mine and I am currently working hard to achieve it. I do this by training outside of soccer, by myself and I will do things such as going to the field and working on long balls, working on my sprints or simply just juggling or dribbling in my backyard. I am a unique player because I am very versatile and can play many positions on the field. I mainly play defensive mid, but if needed my coach will have me play centre back, outside mid or forward. This shows that I am very comfortable with the ball and have a good knowledge of the game no matter where I am on the field. I also have an amazing work ethic, which leads to me never giving up. I have been told that I am very coachable, and listen well to directions because I want to be successful in everything I do.
