Personal Statement

Commitment - Strategy - Coachability

I strive for a commitment to excellence in all of my endeavors, especially soccer. This commitment includes dedication to drive six hours round trip for practices several nights a week so that I can play on the top club team in my state. The reality is I eat, sleep, and do homework in the car all while maintaining above a 3.9 GPA (unweighted) including honors classes. I am the representative for the Health and Human Services (Sciences) division of our school's academics and am a part of the founding, inaugural team of Ignite Ministries that includes serving our community while being a hands-on peer mentor. The three balances to my life are my faith, my academics, and my sport. Academically, I can find pre-med/pre-pt programs at any undergraduate setting and am therefore more interested in the best fit for soccer.

I am a true midfielder given to strategy, especially setting up plays for conversion that may begin by winning the ball in the half or even defensive third of our field. I love to put the ball in the back of the net, but I'm equally happy to set my teammates up for the finish. I do well on a team that makes good use of the midfield to maintain possession by working the ball up the field and can flip between an offensive and defensive player within moments when needed. I have played since I was four years old and played up since I was six. I have played classic, travel, NPL, international, and WPSL (at fourteen and fifteen I stayed in Florida in condos for the summer with the team and trained with them as the sub for Marta Bakowska-Mathews - the midfielder for FSU championship year). I also had the most minutes by the youngest player for the league.

I respect my coaches, their knowledge and vision of the game, and strive to fulfill my role in it. I am a team player who is supportive and not given to drama at any level. I embrace inclusion, diversity, and sisterhood, especially to include pushing each other on to be our best. I am enthusiastic about training to be the best. I will work hard to overcome any deficits I may have to earn my jersey!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
