HI, name is Alyssa Green and I would love to introduce myself! I am 17 years old from British Columbia Canada. I play soccer for Surrey United Soccer Club (SUSC)(Which is one of the highest levels to play where I live, there is only 7 teams in the province)and varsity soccer for my high school Pitt Meadows Secondary School. I have been a starter in high school soccer since 8th grade, where we won our league as well as a Fraser Valley banner. In my grade 9 year we won the league again, and another Fraser Valley banner, which we won in pk’s where I took the winning one. I was also invited to my varsity teams provincials in my ninth year, where I started 3 out of 4 games, we ended up taking 6th in the province. In my first varsity year in grade 10 we made provincials again taking 11th place. For my metro team I earned a starting spot within my first couple weeks of joining the team of my 2017-2018 season and was able to win all 3 titles in one season, league, coastal and provincials. The following year we won league and provincials again! I also attended ‘Worldwide Showcase Phoenix Cup’. I also tried out for my BC Summer Games team where I again earned a starting spot and played full games, we took home the bronze medal! I believe what makes me different from others is my ability to push myself, I also touch every cone and don't cut corners and thats something I do all over the field. I go till I get the job done, if I lose the ball I strive to win it back, and when I'm on the ball I push myself to try new things and am constantly scanning the field with my head on a swivel. However my biggest attribute in my opinion is my strength, I use my body well to gain good positioning on defence as well as maintaining possession in the offensive end.
I also play basketball which my team has won league for 3 years in a row now, and we are attending BC Provincials this year for the AAA girls provincials !
This week I also attended a First Touch Football camp here in Vancouver where I ran the fasted 40 yard dash in 4.60 seconds.
I am a good student and enjoy school a lot. I won the honour roll with distinction award for my grade 10 year. I am very interested in the field of science. I like to find a good balance between my friends, basketball, soccer and school work, which is my priority. I am involved with a Athletic Leadership program at my school, and I love to volunteer with the junior soccer teams at my school. I recently volunteered my time at my sisters elementary school running fun stations and working with kids. I am looking into much more volunteering and hopefully some assistant coaching gigs with younger teams!
I want to choose a school that matches me well academically of course where I can continue my passion of dermatology. I would love a school where I can continue my dream of playing soccer!
